Rachel Verinder: Rachel was a pretty young woman who lives in Yorkshire county with her mother. She was not like other girls of her age, she had some qualities which difference her in many ways. She was determined and strong and able of making her own decisions… She was also honest and shy.

Franklin Blake: Franklin is a good-looking man with his fancy clothes. He was Rachel’s cousin although he is madly in love with her. He is an honest man with a great sense of justice.

Godfrey Ablewhite: Godfrey was a fine-looking man and a charismatic lawyer in London. He shows himself as a philanthropist person although he is in fact very ambitious and selfish.

John Herncastle: John is Rachel’s uncle, a fearless discoverer who stole the moonstone beggining this fascinating story of drama, mystery and love.

 

Secondary ones

Lady Verinder: She is Rachel’s mother and John Herncastle’s sister. She is an old and british educated lady who wants the best for Rachel. She is always caring of her and taking in account her feelings.
